Attracted by Balinese tradition, I initiate to documented Pelebon, a cremation ceremony for Bali’s royal family that was held in Ubud by following the parade from Puri Agung to Setra Puri Dalem at 800 meters distance. Non-royal Balinese have their cremation ceremony too, called Ngaben, but to witnessed Pelebon is a rare opportunity. It is a cremation ceremony in much bigger scale. They made a 27.5 meters tower called Bade to bring the corpse, the higher its gets means higher social class. And a cow statue which representing a vehicle to deliver the body to nirvana. For Balinese, death is not the end but the beginning of a new life. His body returned to nature, his spirit released into nirvana, to be reborn or free from the cycle of birth.
