ABOUT THE PROJECT
This Illustration is for my assignment to create an iOS application, aims to make destination branding for Cirebon, one of city in indonesia that is famous for its "Tari Topeng" (Cirebon dance mask)

Panji is the first main character of Cirebon dance mask. This character of dancing represent human being that is just born to the world. It is full of holiness, with soft and smooth motion of hand movement. There is the phrase between people in cirebon “Panji itu kaya wong urip tapi mati, mati tapi urip” which means dancer of Panjis is like the living but dead, like the dead but live. This type of dance is the combination between the essence of movement and stillness in dance philosophy.

Klana, is a contrast of Panji, and the last main character of mask dance of Cirebon. it is a visualization of human character which is avaricious, fury, and ambitiousness. These characters are another side of human which is the “Dark Side”of each of human being. The movement of this dance are firm and forcefull, full of ambition, like a king that thirst of carnal ambition. The color of Klana is dominated by red because Klana have tempramental nature. This dance usually go along with rythme Gonjing and is continued by Sarung Ilang. The pattern of delivery usually the same with others, consist of Baksarai (dance without the mask) and the part Ngedok (dance with the mask).
