GIORDANO ART OF FREEDOM
Featured on 10 November 2014
Since I got so many similar briefs about freedom or nationalism,
I felt confused about what to explore in this case.
Until I heard a song from Icona Pop - All Night and
was inspired by the lyrics:
"We got the keys to open paradise, yeah paradise.
It feels like we can do this all night."
The song was so youthful, fun, and energetic,
just like what young generation should be:
young, wild, free, and successful.
I had to make one illustration for scarf and one for tote bag.
Visually I was very inspired by Hermes scarf,
they are timeless and legendary.
I really wish to make something like that someday *amen*
Based on my inspiration song lyrics,
I draw a fancy key, blooming flower, a human head silhouette in the middle,
and Batik element surrounding.
This is my sketch for scarf illustration.
Coloring Process 01
Color draft in Photoshop just to know the color theme and mood I was going to use.

Here is what I love from working with good clients.
They are our second eyes, they know what they want,
and they know exactly what is good for their business.
They suggested me to multiply and reflect the key object.
I was so happy with the result, it looks more intricate!
I was required to make the longer version of the scarf.
Apparently they will print the vertical format.
So here it is.
The second image is for the tote bag.
I create something more flexible here, without border or background image,
so it can be put anywhere.
I really love air-balloon object as it floats and it has many color on it.
This time I recreate the air-balloon image with illustration of
a girl waking up inside a blooming flower petals,
surrounding by the tropical scenery of my country, Indonesia.
