Sukma (means spirit) is a 'batik' crafter girl. She is a 17 years old Javanese girl. She makes 'batik' fabric in her workshop house in Jogjakarta.
She has this special ability : with her magical golden 'canting' (the tool to draw 'batik'), she could bring what she draw to life. The key is to draw it with all her heart, soul and spirit ('sukma').
This is one of the spirit she summoned, Jataya, the cheerful spirit of Garuda, a giant bird. Jataya means can be easily brought forth. It is the easiest spirit she could summon. It also became her best friend, which accompanied her throughout the night (as for the summoned spirit would only last for a night).
Later on, she would be able to summon multiple magical spirits by the discovery of magical stamp (another tool for making 'batik' patterns) that would aid her in her magical journey.
