There was a man who had two sons. The younger of them gathered all he had from his father, took a journey and squandered his property in reckless living. Then a disaster happened and he lost everything.
He realized he mustn’t live that way, and he said, “How many of my father’s hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger!“
He confessed his sins and came to his father, “Father, I have sinned againts heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called you son.”
But his father forgave him, treated him properly and began to celebrate.
His brother asked why he never treated him that way. He said to him, “Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.” (Luke 15:11-32)
Live in our “hometown” certainly makes you feel happy, peace and pleasant. But sometimes outside influences make us want more and more pleasures. It leads us to a neverending satisfaction. All we need to remembered is be grateful. How attractive the outside world is, the most comfortable place for us is our ‘hometown”.
