THE LITTLE PRINCE // After he decided to leave his planet, he believed that he would never return. But on that last morning, all these familiar tasks like cleaning out the volcanoes and pulling up little shoots of baobabs seemed so precious to him. And when he watered his rose for the last time and prepared to shelter her under the glass globe, he realised that he was very close to tears... But the proud flower said, "Don't linger like this. You have decided to go away. Now go!"

THE LITTLE PRINCE // This statue of the Little Prince is adapted from Chapter XXVI, when the pilot (narrator) saw the him sitting on the wall ruin beside the well and heard him discussing plans for that evening with an unseen companion, and the topic of poison was mentioned. When the narrator looks down, he sees a snake - the same one who greeted the prince when he first arrived on Earth. Saint-Exupéry reminds us once more that death and endings are a natural part of existence. Death has been in us since the moment we were born. The snake, who represents the unavoidable phenomenon of death, said earlier that he is "more powerful than the finger of a king." Eventually, souls will part, but it is alright, as it is only part of the natural cycle of life. And despite the pain of losing a loved one, relationships are worth the price. The narrator may lose the little prince, but his world is enhanced nonetheless. As the prince told him, "In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so when you look at the sky at night..., You - only you - will have stars that can laugh."
