Indonesia is a country comprised of thousands of islands, situated along the equator. Due to its diverse geographical conditions, Indonesia exhibits a wide range of ethnicities, races, and religions. Each ethnic group has its own distinct traditional architecture that reflects the local environment.
One such example is the "Rumah Gadang," a traditional house belonging to the Minangkabau tribe in West Sumatra. The Rumah Gadang is renowned for its distinctive roof, which resembles buffalo horns. This architectural feature is symbolic, representing the Minangkabau people's triumph in a legendary buffalo fight against the Javanese. Even today, the buffalo horn motif is prevalent in Minangkabau culture, appearing in various forms such as symbols and jewelry.
