REOG DANCE is An Indonesian Culture
Klono Sewandono, or King Kelono, is a mighty king who possess a sacred weapon, a powerful whip named "Kyai Pecut Samandiman". Wherever he goes, the young and handsome king has the weapon with him. He uses it for his protection. The king's stature is represented in the energetic and charismatic dance moves. In one story, the King Klono sewandono meditates and creates this beautiful dance to fulfill his lover princess' request. Because he was madly lovestruck, the dance moves are those of someone deeply in love.
