I made this for Good Friday, to remember suffer and Death of our Lord
Happy Easter and happy birthday Veliecia Tanjaya, i paint her as Mary Magdalene, based on some renaissance painting for inspiration. her dress is white, the liturgy color of easter solemnity, also it refer to Isaiah 1:18 - “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord:
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
God has cleansed our sins, by his own blood on Good Friday, that's why we can arise with Him, with glory on Easter Sunday
the tradition of easter eggs come from her.
The eggs represent new life, and Christ bursting forth from the tomb. Among Eastern Orthodox Christians this sharing is accompanied by the proclamation "Christ is risen!"
One tradition concerning Mary Magdalene says that, following the death and resurrection of Jesus, she used her position to gain an invitation to a banquet given by the Roman Emperor Tiberius. When she met him, she held a plain egg in her hand and exclaimed, "Christ is risen!" The Emperor laughed, and said that Christ rising from the dead was as likely as the egg in her hand turning red while she held it. Before he finished speaking, the egg in her hand turned a bright red, and she continued proclaiming the Gospel to the entire imperial house.[85]
Another version of this story can be found in popular belief, mostly in Greece. It is believed that after the Crucifixion, Mary Magdalene and the Virgin Mary put a basket full of eggs at the foot of the cross. There, the eggs were painted red by the blood of the Christ. Then, Mary Magdalene brought them to Tiberius Caesar
i paint this after a trip to South Korea, where i join Asian Youth Day 2014. i bring a novel 1984, a novel by George Orwell.
i see it in a Christian view, that Jesus, as the 'Eldest Son of God', is our Big Brother, And He always watch us everywhere we go
Birthday present for my counselor priest, that always give me the best advice
