The suggestions which our ancestors made for us are carried away until this generation. Our belief create the reality in our life. Take an example, for Chinese people mostly, rain can make you sick. We got that suggestion in our mind from our parents when we were kids and we truly got sick after we are walking in the rain. But if you see other race, even the kids that usually rent an umbrella when raining (they are running and playing in the rain), they never have the ‘raining brings sickness’ suggestion so they do not believe that and no sickness come to them.
Sometimes we have to be wise in accordance to tradition. What our ancestors might mean by saying rain can make us sick could be their way to tell us to stay at home while playing outside in the rain can be harm (with all the hard-to-see drivers or thunder or falling tree or else). Mostly, what we think is what we get.
