motive. The folks made adjustment in the story for their own tradition. That's what I discover while reading 'Raja Omas' folktale from Sumatera because its first part was very similar to 'Jaka Tarub' from Java, a story about the seven goddess and stolen shawl, but the rest was totally different.
The story was told in a distinctive traditional style which has no perspective and a concept of "freezing" all time and space, a whole story in one frame. Just like a kid's drawing. This style was applied in Borobudur.
